Major Case of the Mondays!

After an AWESOME trip to Nashville to visit our good friends I’m feeling the post-weekend blues.  First, now I miss my friends.  Not just them, but all of my friends who live far away. Secondly, it’s back to the grind.  And lastly, this happened.

TRAGIC.

Yup, that WAS the most perfect Iced Coffee I HAD ever tasted on a Monday morning…now on our kitchen floor. I never drank coffee regularly BC (before child).  Now, it is a NECESSITY every morning. I have to blame my mom since she came to visit that second week Lovebug was born and made coffee every morning.  I would have a cup to get some spunk in my step and be coherent.  Before she was born, I preferred Diet Pepsi or on occasion a Dunkin’ Donuts Iced French Vanilla.  Since I have moved to the boonies {I mean away from home} it’s a 45 minute drive to the nearest DD or Starbucks.

My awesome hubby surprised me with a Keurig Platinum Brewing System as my first Mother’s Day present. SCORE! I think he caught onto the fact I was buying gas station coffee to be able to function every morning without being a royal biatch.  This was definitely a more convenient, tastier, cheaper option.  Most woman would want bling-bling; however, words can NOT express how thrilled I was to receive this gift.  Typically we are not big gift givers since being married to my man is the best present EVERY DAY!  (Yup, I know gag me with a spoon) We don’t need a holiday as an excuse to buy each other something.  I would rather get a sweet card than some gift I really don’t need.  I LOVE my appliance to this day.  One downfall is you can not set the timer for it to automatically brew on it’s own.  Coming from someone who had never made a pot of coffee in her life; the one push of a button and there is your cup of coffee is a blessing! Oh, and are you ready for this?  Dunkin Donuts came out with K Cups a few months after and when I can I pick me up a box as a treat.

I hope you all had as great of a weekend as we did.  There is something to be said when you visit friends you haven’t seen in 9 months and can pick up right where you left off.   Good food, good drinks, and good laughs were long overdue with some true friends. Our daughter was a rock star of course-no naps and showed off how “busy” she really is, but was so well-behaved.  It is so much fun to see her interact with them as well.  I am so thankful we have such awesome friends!

Anyone else having a Case of the Mondays?!?

Have a great week, make it a good one!  Even though mine started off with an unfortunate man down of my coffee, I got a good laugh out of it and I’m excited for the busy week ahead. I’m more pissed off I have to wash the floor now!

Ok, ruining a perfect cup of iced coffee is up there on the pile of suckitude. The only thing that I don't "like" in California is that there are NO Dunkin Donuts anywhere to be found. And, I just can't create the Large Iced Hazelnut with extra milk and 3 Splenda ~ that is my drink of choice. And, yes. I am having a big time case of the Mondays. Blah.... XO Tracy

I'm not even a fan of Starbucks...probably because I don't like speaking another language to order my coffee. I used to love their frozen coffee drinks before I actually loved coffee so much. Then I found out how many calories were in those bad boys! I can't wait to go home in a few weeks, I may just have to have an Iced Hazelenut just for you!
